Greater Reliability

The SeaFET V2 includes redesigned electronics that prevent data dropouts and sensor failures. Lab and field testing of the new electronics has yielded vastly improved reliability and stability in pH measurements, with reduced power consumption for longer battery life.

Simplified Sampling and Command Set

Operation of the SeaFET V2 is now similar to Sea-Bird Scientific moored CTDs. Users can now utilize the same autonomous and polled sampling routines used with their existing moored CTD platforms, and communicate with the SeaFET V2 with familiar RS-232 commands.

Autonomous sampling with the SeaFET V2 now occurs just like a moored CTD: users configure a desired sample interval and begin sampling with the “startnow” or “startlater” command. When sampling, the SeaFET V2 will wake up, log and (optionally) output a single sample, then return to sleep mode. No need for sample averaging or burst sampling.

Improved data resolution

The improved SeaFET V2 electronics reduce measurement error to ensure that each pH sample collected is within spec, without the need to average samples.

Easier setup, deployment, and data processing

The SeaFET V2 is compatible with the UCI software, a graphical user interface that allows the user to set up their instrument without terminal commands. UCI is loaded with user-friendly tools, and can be used with other Sea-Bird Scientific equipment.
